Spenadel Tax & Accounting Services
I came to Wicker Park in October 2004 starting my life over as a self-employed CPA.
After joining the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce (WPBCC) in April 2006, my accounting practice grew exponentially.
I got a new client from attending my first chamber event. Then, I got a call from someone saying they found me on the Internet, even though I did not have a website. I was in shock! I continued to attend WPBCC events and the business keeps on coming.
Serving as Treasurer is my way of thanking the WPBCC for building my accounting practice. I appreciate everything the chamber has done for me. They have tremendous resources available to business owners. Also, I have met some great members of the Wicker Park and Bucktown community from being involved with the WPBCC. And what a community it is! Artsy, dynamic and diverse, filled with interesting shops and nightlife, I feel right at home wanting to be a writer in high school. So, come explore and start your business in our great neighborhood. Join and get involved in the WPBCC!
Thanks to my involvement with the WPBCC, I landed on my feet. Coming to Wicker Park was the best move I ever made, literally!

No one starts a business because they like to work with other people, but ever since my first shop opened in 2002, I have been involved with WPB Chamber of Commerce on a number of levels, from member to Board Member to Vice-President! I have no recollection of why I decided to join the Chamber, expect that I thought it was the right thing to do as a small business owner in Bucktown looking to meet other movers and shakers in the area.
Over the last ten or so years, I have seen the Chamber grow by leaps and bounds into a vital and thriving resource that is passionately committed to the success of entrepreneurs who have chosen to manifest their professional dreams in Wicker Park or Bucktown.
As a direct result of Chamber participation, I met former Mayor Daley to discuss the area's development, traveled to Washington DC to represent the neighborhood's small businesses in front of state representatives, and, most importantly, met dozens of amazing people who are as excited and invigorated about the neighborhood as I am! My yearly membership dues are more than subsidized by the experiences and exchanges I have enjoyed thanks to the Wicker Park and Bucktown Chamber of Commerce.
