The first marijuana dispensary application in Chicago is located in the First Ward. The applicants, Barry Golin of Barry Drugs at 1370 N. Milwaukee (Est. 1946), and Daniel & Douglas Marks of Emporium Arcade Bar (Est. 2011) have applied for a license at 1368 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The City of Chicago has released an app that will allow one to pay for parking anywhere in the city that a meter box & printed reciepts are used. It's currently available in the West Loop, but coming soon to many more areas.

The Inspiration Corporation's Annual One Inspired Evening fundraising event is looking for artworks to be submitted for judging and then to be auctioned off, with the proceeds supporting the work of Inspiration Corporation.
Artists entering works may win cash prizes up to $500, with a grand prize of a month long exhibition at Firecat Projects.

Small Business Administration has approved over $40 million in Disaster Assistance Loans for residents and businesses in Illinois affected by the severe storms, winds and flooding between April 16 and May 5, 2013. The deadline to file an SBA disaster loan application for physical damage is Wednesday, July 24.

The Bloomingdale Trail along with the larger part of Chicago's Northwest side parks and trail system is becoming the 606. The final project will include this three mile trail as well as 5 parks and an observatory, skate park, various art installations, and other amenities.
