By Bicycle:

Wicker Park and Bucktown are great destinations for bicyclists. We have a great supply of bike racks for parking your bike, and we are continually adding to the parking options. During the summer months, look for our new on-street bike parking racks (the first in Chicago!) on the east side of Milwaukee Avenue just south of North Avenue. In addition, thanks to generous funding from the WPB SSA, we are adding bright orange “WPB Rides” bike racks to supplement the standard black racks installed by the City of Chicago.

Milwaukee Avenue has a very popular bike lane, one of the busiest in the City, and this gives Milwaukee the nickname of “Hipster Highway”. See below for a full list of bike lanes servicing our area, or, to view the online map of bike lanes in Chicago, click here.

  • Cortland Street
  • Damen Avenue
  • Division Street
  • Elston Avenue
  • Milwaukee Avenue
  • Armitage Avenue

There is an exciting new off-street trail in the works known as the Bloomingdale Trail. The old Bloomingdale Railroad elevated right of way is in the process of being converted into a bike trail. The planning is now underway. For more information, please visit the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail website.
